Remote Jamf 370 Course

The Jamf 370 offers Apple admins and security team members a comprehensive course targeting both Apple-specific security and practices that leverage Jamf software to manage macOS endpoint protection through identification and mitigation strategies.

Though not yet made available in localised time zones, Mac Centre Senior Systems Engineer, Aaron Alquillera completed the Jamf 370 course alongside his US counterparts in US time.

Jamf 370 is a course that focuses on Apple Security for MacOS. It introduces Jamf Protect and teaches us how to integrate it with Jamf Pro by mitigating any malware or threats and notifying the users in real time.

I think that the 370 course is great– it was a deep dive on how Apple manages to protect any threats on a MacOS device. It expands on Apple’s built-in security features in MacOS and explores both how it operates and why it operates.

I also learned a lot about the different global security benchmarks and baselines such as the macOS Security Compliance Project (mSCP)and the Center for Information Security (CIS). Furthering my understanding of how to enhance security posture using industry best practices.

The biggest thing I learnt from the Jamf 370 course was:

  • Learning how to use Jamf Protect and how to integrate it with Jamf Pro
  • Using Jamf Pro to enforce a security baseline to match mSCP and/or CIS benchmarks
  • How to use Jamf Protect to detect and prevent any known malware
  • Set up and automate threat detection, prevention and remediation workflows as well as notify users in real time to inform them that their machine was compromised.
