Out of Warranty Service
If an iPad is not covered by an Apple warranty, we charge a $44 diagnostic fee to make an assessment, and provide a quotation for any service or repair required. The diagnostic fee will be deducted from the repairs on your approval to perform the service. Repairs are considered out of warranty when:
Your iPad is over one year old
Your iPad has an issue that’s not covered under warranty or consumer law, like accidental damage or damage caused by unauthorised modifications
We might be able to fix or replace your product for an out-of-warranty fee. Your iPad will be new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability. The Apple Limited Warranty is in addition to rights provided by consumer law.
The Apple Limited Warranty covers a defective battery, but it doesn’t cover wear from normal use. We might need to test your product to find the cause of your battery issue. If your battery has a manufacturing defect and it’s covered by Apple’s warranty, AppleCare+, or consumer law, we’ll service it at no additional cost. If your iPhone battery service isn’t covered, we can replace your battery for a fee. If you’re covered by AppleCare+ and your iPad battery can hold only 80 percent or less of its original capacity, we’ll service your product at no charge.
If your iPad screen is broken, we might be able to fix it. The cost to repair it depends on your iPad model, any additional damage, and if you have AppleCare+ coverage. Damage caused by accident or abuse isn’t covered by the Apple warranty. If your screen cracks due to a manufacturing defect, it’s covered by the Apple warranty and consumer law. AppleCare+ for iPad includes up to two incidents of accidental damage, each with a service fee. You can use an incident for screen repair. If you don’t have AppleCare+, we might be able to repair your broken screen for an out-of-warranty fee. We’ll run a diagnostic test to see if your iPad needs any other repairs. If it does, we’ll let you know.

Is my repair covered under warranty?
When you bring your item in to the repair centre our staff will run diagnostic tests on it and check out its warranty status at that point. Check your Service and Support Coverage here.
How much is the service fee?
All repairs covered under Apple Warranty, AppleCare+ or Australia Consumer Protection are serviced free of charge. Out-of-Warranty repairs attract a $44 inc GST diagnosis fee. If you choose to go ahead with the repair, the diagnostic fee will be deducted from the repairs on your approval to perform the service.
Do you recycle?
All "dead" devices that you leave with us will be taken to a recycling centre. We attempt to destroy data on the device storage but it is your responsibility to ensure iPhones and iPads are wiped before handing over devices to Mac Centre for reycling.
Do I need an appointment?
No, you can simply turn up with your item for repair. We will perform a quick diagnosis and give you options before you leave.
Will I lose my data?
It is wise to always have a current backup of your data. Although we take all care, we cannot guarantee that your data will remain on your device after a repair, so please talk to us about this when you bring in your item. If your iPhone is replaced then you will definitely lose the data so a backup is a must.
Can I get my item picked up?
If you have a support agreement account with us you can get your item picked up and delivered when fixed. Even if you are not on a support agreement, if it is not possible or convenient to visit our repair centre, you can send a courier with your carefully packaged computer or device. Ensure that your full contact details inside the package so that we can get it back to you!
What if I have used a non-authorised repairer?
If you use a non-authorised repairer then you forego the warranty on your device. We can still perform out-of-warranty repairs on these items, but can't guarantee the overall integrity of the device, only the part that we install.

What should I try before bringing my iPad in for Service?
Before dropping in your device to us, try these quick fixes to see if the issue gets resolved:
Turn your iPad off and then on again.
Restore your iPad to factory settings, and see if the issue remains. (Ensure you have a backup first!)
Try backing up and restoring your iPad through iTunes on a Mac or PC If these tips didn’t fix the issue with your iPad, or weren’t relevant to your problem, just come in and see us. You don’t need a reservation and we can usually diagnose on the spot. If you are a business or education client, on a service agreement, you can arrange our valet service to pick-up and deliver your device, once fixed.
To save time waiting in our service centre, follow these tips:
Make sure you have a current backup of your iPad in iTunes on your Mac or PC, or through iCloud. Click here for more information on backing up your device.
Sign out of your iCloud account and disable “Find my iPhone”. Instructions on how to disable Find my iPhone, are here.
Make sure you have taken note and can supply any passwords or passcodes for your device and any services you are having issues with. If your issue is to do with email for example, we will need to access your account to troubleshoot and test.
When you have completed these steps just drop in your iPad or arrange our valet service to pick up your device if you are enrolled on a business or education service agreement.
